In the early 1990’s Sun Microsystems developed Java, this in laments terms essentially is a programming language based on the C++ system, only easier to use. It has become extremely popular and it is safe to say that almost all programs and websites don’t function without Java.

Software engineers and developers are amongst the most popular users of Java as it offers many technical attributes and skills that are in demand in today’s job markets. There are many courses available at colleges in order for you to be able to familiarize yourself with this programming language. Even Sun Microsystems offers many certified programs that you can take for Java programming. On the other hand if you aren’t very keen on the idea of attending a college you can always look into self-tutoring. There are many programs available such as Java Video tutorials which can be found online. These have proven to be very successful and popular. One of the reasons for their popularity is because in a few minutes it covers a vast amount of information which could otherwise prove to be a long and difficult learning experience.
New versions of Java programming are continually being developed and downloading them is for free, thus everyone has access to it. This Java programming language is used for many applications such as creating and running three common types of programs namely:
Applications
Applets
Servlets
Applications, applets and servlets help to build a user interface and help to read and write data to and from databases which can be sent and received from networks. So in many ways you can say that applications, applets and servlets are both similar and yet very different. By taking tutorials either at a college or via Java video tutoring you can learn about this in more detail. At one point Java used to be licensed to Microsoft, but that has long since expired, which resulted in Microsoft not being able to give Java out with windows. Not that this is something to worry about because Java is available as a free download which can be used on various versions of windows. Another interesting fact is that the type of Java language used is called bytecode, which truly is amazing as it allows computer programs to run and be supported by almost any hardware and operating system platform.
In conclusion we can say that by learning about this Java programming language, you can open many doors for yourself especially as far as work opportunities are concerned. The reason for this is that through Java you can learn how to program and write games, you can even expand your knowledge and become a professional web builder. It is amazing what you can learn to do in Photoshop and all this can create great job opportunities for you, as these are skills and abilities that are in great demand. If you have no experience at all it would be a wise idea to first take an introductory program course and thereafter a more specialized course.
